Speaking & Workshops

As a Master’s in Social Welfare, a mental health therapist, a professional yoga teacher & sound healer, I’ve had the privilege to develop my skills and knowledge to support healing in a multitude of ways.

My passion for healing was sparked during my time in the foster care system as a teen. I bring lived, professional, and academic experience into my workshops and speeches.

I’ve presented to multiple college campuses regarding how they can best support foster youth, from a cultural transformation perspective.

I’ve led ongoing wellness workshops for women who were formerly incarcerated/system-impacted on the UC Berkeley campus.

I’ve hosted wellness retreats for staff, incorporating liberatory theory into practice.

It’s my pleasure to share the wisdom I’ve gleaned from my experiences and I’m happy to share a menu of presentation offerings or curate a workshop specifically tailored to your group.

Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping)

Emotional Freedom Technique, or tapping, is a practice of tapping on the meridians (energetic lines) of the body. EFT has been shown to help reduce the body’s stress and fear response in the amygdala. This practice brings individuals back into their bodies in a safe and gentle way. When paired with affirmation, this can be a powerful reprogramming tool.

Sound Healing Baths

Several scientific studies illustrate the beneficial impacts of sound bowl music on mental and physical health. While many mindfulness practices require active participation, sound healing baths allow listeners to be passive participants. Simply relax into the vibrations of the music, they will bring you into deep restoration.

Yoga

Yoga is an ancient practice, rooted in South Asia. Yoga asana is the incorporation of physical postures to come back into your body and connect with your spirit. I specialize in restorative yoga, which is a type of asana practice in which participants hold yoga postures for extended periods of time. This slower pace helps to truly cultivate a sense of presence and awareness. Participants share that this practice truly helps to calm their racing thoughts. It is truly amazing the shift that can occur after a restorative yoga practice.

Breathwork Meditation

Breath work— the conscious manipulation of breath, is the most accessible self-care practice. The breath is always with us, and is one the few bodily functions which is both voluntary and involuntary. Through conscious breathing we can release stagnant energy, alter our brain states, and have a renewed appreciation for our life force. I offer a number of different breathwork techniques, catered to fit your needs.
